5 Ways to Network with Other Bloggers and Grow Your Blog

If you're interested in growing your blog. Eventually you may to learn some of the best ways to do it.
For some, these tips may seem redundant. But there are many bloggers out there, who have had blogs for years and still wonder why they can't get people to come and visit their blogs.

The saying, if you build it, they will come. Doesn't always ring true in blogging. The truth is, if you create it, and put the hard work into building it up, then they might come!

So today, I want to share 5 ways you can network with other bloggers, and help grow your blog.

Find other blogs that interest you and comment on them.

I am not talking about a quick "Great Post" type of comment. I am talking a thoughtful, show them you actually took the time to read their post type of comment. Ask them questions in your comment, show them your interested and engaged in what they have to say.

Some bloggers do try to visit every single blogger who visit their blog. However, not all do. Larger and huge blogs likely will never return your comment. Even smaller bloggers, may not be interested in growing their blog and networking. If you have left 4-5 comments on different posts on their blog, and you don't see they have ever reciprocated. Chances are they may never. So you can either just read their blog for the fun of it, or move onto a blogger who is interested in networking.

Pin Images, and Share their post on social media.

This is one thing that almost every blogger would love others to know and understand. If you like something a blogger writes, why would you not want to share it with others?
You would want someone else to do the same for you too, correct?
So if you have that extra 10 seconds or less to share someones blog post, then do it!
They will notice, and if you do it for them, they are going to be far more likely to do the same for you! After a while, they will take notice of you, you may even find a new blog follower and friend yourself from it too.

Join a Weekly Link up or a Blog Hop.

A great way to get to know other bloggers who are interested in networking is to join a link up and actually participate in it.
I wrote a post on blog link up etiquette HERE that you should definitely read if you aren't sure what they are or how to participate in them.

When you participate in link ups correctly, you will not only be visiting other blogs, but they will be visiting yours. At the end of one day, you may already have found a few more interesting blogs to follow yourself, and likely someone else is thinking the same thing about yours too.

Interact with them on social media.

Sometimes getting to know a blogger just on their blog alone can be a little difficult. Try following them on their social media channels (they might even do the same and follow you back.) But interact with them. Drop them a "like" or if you have the time, leave them a quick comment on their social mention or pictures.

It helps if you use your social media that is related to your blog. If possible you want to have your social media links match your blog name, or as close as possible.  This way, other bloggers know who you are. Eventually, they will pick up that you care what they have to say or post and your chances of their networking back with you will increase significantly.

Put together your own blog tribe.

What is a blog tribe? A group of like minded bloggers that have common interests and common goals. You work together occasionally on projects, run ideas off each other. As well as a group that is interested in helping each other out collaborating efforts to grow your blogs.

It will take a while to get to this point. Because you won't want to pick bloggers at random. Likely these will be bloggers you have followed, and also follow you and you've noticed great friendships developed between you and them. It could be something officially between you all, or something unsaid. But knowing that you have a small group that you can turn to any time you need help with something, or need to push out posts or projects your working on. Those are the types of things, besides wonderfully great friendships that can come out of finding a blog tribe. Not only that, but if your hoping to have a successful blog, a blog tribe really could be consider essential to finding success.

Why I Host Blog Hops, What Do I Get Out of Them?

Why I host blog hops, and do I get anything out of them? If I am in conversation with someone about the subject they often do come up.  So I figured why not just tell you my exact reasons and give everyone the answers.

It all started when I first started blogging, I was more of what you'd call a personal/journal type blogger at first. I mostly only wrote posts after each marathon so my friends and family no matter their location, could check out what I am up to and keep tabs on me and my goal progress.

Sure, I had this huge background in online advertising and marketing as well as website building. You would have thought that would also fall true into blogging. While some did, not everything I knew prepared me for what needed to be done to grow a blog.

Why? Well frankly I didn't know exactly how to go about finding other blogs out there that had similar interests. I also had this weird assumption that all bloggers were personal journal type bloggers.

I'll skip all the details of how I discovered other bloggers. But let's just say, once upon a time it started to happen.

A lot of how I built my blog was by trial and error. I always say if I started blogging now, I would do things SO much differently.
But I can't start over, at least not with this blog.

Through all that trial and error, I started realizing what worked and what didn't. I quickly discovered blogging alone, without any networking or blogging friends, was very boring. But with blogging friends, it really does become an incredible experience.
I also learned its not exactly possible to take a small blog and grow it without networking.

So I told myself if I ever built my blog up enough, I would share my knowledge and help others.

Clearly I don't have the biggest blog out there. I still have a long ways to go from where I have dreams to take it. But I do have a fairly decent combined reach of over 12K, which isn't too shabby. So the time came, I decided to give back a little and help others who may be like I was, when I was still trying to figure it all out.

I've met bloggers who have joined in these hops I host who've told me they'd been blogging for years, and never had any idea how to get anyone to read their blog.

After participating one of my hops, my hope is bloggers walk away from the experience with a little more knowledge on what they can do going forward to get people to come to their blogs. Not only that, but those who play by the rules of the hop walk away from it finding a few new relationships from it. If kept up they even can become long term followers.

I do not do these for financial gain.

Several bloggers have asked me why I do not charge a small fee to participate. I'll be honest, I have considered it in the past. Especially when it's pretty obvious a few bloggers who have joined were in it entirely for their own benefit, with no intention of playing by the rules and giving back to others with my (Comment for a Comment Rule System.)  It's possible, charging may weed out a few of those. (Of course that is also the beauty of being the host. I can disapprove any of those types from joining in future hops.)

Additionally, I won't lie, these do take a considerable amount of my time. Which is why I only intend on ever hosting these twice a year in February & Oct/Nov. I do the Giveaway hops during other times of the year, because they take considerably less time to put together.

But honestly I do these to help bloggers as well as for the fun experience of it all. So no, I do not require or accept financial payment to host these.

Instead I enjoy hearing about other success, I enjoy hearing about the fun they have during them. I myself also always seem to find a few new awesome bloggers to follow with them too. Honestly, those reasons are payment enough!

If you're wondering why I picked today of all days to share this post. Well truth is, this evening will be my first Community Blogging Event or maybe it would be better put Beginners Blogging Class.

I've done presentations in small groups with people I know before. But this will be my first with mostly complete strangers in my community and I am a little excited about it. (I'm sure the nerves will kick in about 10 minutes before it's to start, ha ha.)
I look at it as another fun way for me to help others by sharing my online background and what I have learned as a blogger. It's a really fun hobby, I enjoy sharing that fun part with others.

Additionally, the February blog hops are starting soon, and I am excited to meet the new participants and get to know some awesome new bloggers.

If you have ever read my blogs mission statement (At the bottom of my About Me page.) Then this line from it will sound familiar. I believe not everything you do, should be about yourself.

That is exactly why, I host blog hops, and that is what I get out of them. I probably should have said that at the beginning and spared you all the reading, ha ha.

You can be a friendly blog stalker too

Growing your blog takes time.  It's not for everyone, but for anyone who wants to do it, its possible and it will happen if you can put the effort needed into it.

It is very rare that a person creates a blog and it instantly becomes a hit and millions of people come and visit them daily to the point they are rolling into a six figure salary and quitting their day job.
If that happened to you, not only am I jealous.  But I am here to say, that is a very, very rare thing!

The key to success and growing your blog is putting the required time in for it.  A lot of that time can be spent in better ways than others.  One way is blogger Networking or to stay on today's topic I like to call it friendly blog stalking!

What is Friendly Blog Stalking?

Visiting others blogs, daily if needed.  Reading their posts and then leaving thoughtful comments, engaging them into conversation with you.
You like their topic, tell them.  You have additional questions on it, ask them.
Do it on all their posts, or as often as you can.
Don't stop there, do this to as many bloggers you can!  Spend as much of your free-time giving some friendly blog stalking.
Stalk them until they notice you!  Sometimes the effect can be immediate, other times it could take weeks.

How can this help you?

Well if you "friendly" blog stalk someone long enough.  Emphasis on friendly, as if you are sending them hate comments or dislikes to everything they write, well that's not really very kind and probably won't ever get you anything back in return:) besides them hoping karma comes around:)

But if you engage with them long enough you can bring ALMOST any blogger eventually back to yours. But you must make sure you are leaving a way for them to contact you back.
Whether that be subscribing to their blog, so their reply to you goes directly back to your email.
Or if they have a section to leave your blog URL or link to your last post.  Do it!
If they can't easily find you, if they do want to check your page out, you need to make it easy for them to find you!

Will this always work?

Nothing is a guarantee!  But there are a few things to consider when you do this.

First, does your blog and the blog you want to stalk have some commonalities?  Maybe your both mothers who blog.  Possibly your both runners, or avid book readers.  Maybe you both have blogs dedicated to entertainment or TV shows, pets, health, goals etc....
If you have some sort of commonality there is a much greater chance that person might come visit your blog and if they like what you say they may comment back.

Second, does the blogger appear to be interested in what others are saying on their blog.  A lot of bigger blogs will turn their comments off because they can't keep up.  Or some might never even check their comments.  Do you see them engaging with other bloggers at all?  Although this isn't always a easy thing to see, if you do see it.  It's a higher possibility they are just as interesting in interacting and Networking with other bloggers as you are.

Last, do you like their blog?  Do you like what they write?  Do you like their blogger personality? Do they seem like someone you would talk if you met them?  Do you learn from them, look forward to what they have to say?
Those are a few good things to consider.  When you are networking with other bloggers, you are essentially creating an online community for yourself.  They in time can actually become your online friends.  Heck, you may even meet up at a blogger conference if you can ever afford to attend one. They can become your tribe, your friendships that will help all your blogs grow together.
If you can't say yes to those questions, then move onto another blog and find bloggers that you can say yes to those things.

Take it one step further

Do you really like their blog, do you value what they say.  Is this something you'd like to share with others?  Then do it!
Take that friendly stalking to another level and occasionally share their posts on your social media channels.  Tag them in it.
I personally would only share things that you really like, then give them a reason on why your sharing when you do it.  Even if it's just a "Great post today."
I'll be honest with you, when someone does this for me, the first thing I think is; that person just made my day!  The next thing I think is, one day I am going to pay that forward!
If they don't take notice, don't feel bad about it.  Sometimes we don't all get our social media notifications like we would like.  But for something that takes only a few seconds out of your day to do, why not!

Other ways blog stalking can help you

Here is something else to consider when blog stalking.  When you are viewing these different blogs, reading their posts, checking out what they are doing.
You will also get ideas for yourself!
Although I never recommend copying exact, I think its wrong.  Sometimes you can read something and say to yourself, hmmm I liked that I would have loved it if that blogger went there.....  Then you just got yourself an idea for a new future post.
Sometimes we can get other ideas too, ideas for things we never would have considered on our own. Life is all about learning and improving, so is blogging!

How you can start today

Want to get started on friendly blog stalking right away?  Go for it.
I like to use the rule of 5, because it's a manageable number and doesn't take too much time.
Find 5 blogs this week that you would like to follow.  Add them to your follow list, and start stalking them as soon as you have time!
Maybe 5 is a good number for a few weeks, maybe you can add a few more each week.  Whatever you can do, do it.
Just keep it manageable within your time, and pick great bloggers your interested in.
Wanna "friendly" blog stalk me?  Go for it!  I'd more than welcome it, and I WILL return the favor:)
If you keep up on this, in time you will notice and you will begin to grow your blog with some other hopefully great relationships in the process!

Do you blog stalk?  Did you laugh at me when you read You can be a Friendly Blog Stalker too?
Or do you network in other ways?  I'd love for you to share!

February is Going to be Fun

So last week, kinda wasn't really much to talk about.  I ended up catching a bad cold the day before my birthday.  It was one of my nieces birthday presents to me, LOL.  I really kind of slacked on workouts and really everything, so I have decided to push last week behind me, and now that I think I am over the worst of it, I am going to focus on the future!

MARATHON TRAINING

What is in store for me this month?  I am going to be bumping up my training, increasing my weekly mileage and increasing my long runs each week.  If all goes as I hope I should be running my first 18 miler in over two years before the end of the month.  I just have to keep hoping the unusual mild winter we've been having in Utah keeps up!
Because if things keep going as I hope, I'll be running my 40th marathon at the end of March.
I have to say, I am beyond thrilled to finally be able to add a title to a post section on marathon training, it's been way, way too long!
You may laugh, but I actually already booked and paid for my hotel to the race, but I have not yet entered it.  (I booked at a refundable hotel.) I don't know why I keep second guessing myself, and keep worrying my work injury won't continue to leave.  But I do, and because of that is the only reason I haven't entered it yet.  However, its probably going to sell out soon, so I need to make up my mind quick!  If it is not the one in March, then I have another in April that I am already setting my sights on as well.  So we shall see:)

FITBIT COMPETITIONS

The Fitbit competitions are still awesome and fun as ever.  Although my sisters know I should be creaming them because of my morning runs.  They don't allow that to stop them or detour them from beating me many days.  I have to hand it to them, they really have been working their butts to find every spare minute they can.  They are averaging 20,000 - 30,000+ steps a day and neither of them are running right now.  Those are just in walking and daily workouts and cleaning their house and taking care of the kids.  Crazy, and kinda impressive if I must say so!
I always thought I'd be the first to hit a 40,000 step day, but with competing against those two sisters, I wouldn't be surprised if one of them figure out how to do it first and beat me to it before I get to my 18 milers:)  Heck, I haven't even hit the 30k step day yet... Maybe this will be my week???
Gotta love a little extra motivation!

CHANGING MY DIET

I am doing great on workouts, but my diet needs some work.
Although I have been (yet again) working on quitting drinking Pepsi, or at least drop it to once a week.
I have hit that point that I need to watch the diet, and increase the water intake. Especially if I want to drop a significant bit of weight before the marathon!  Fingers crossed, we'll see how it goes this week!
Truthfully, I am not going on a specific diet, I will just be watching my calories and trying to incorporate a more healthier eating approach.

NETWORKING

Ever since I came up with the idea for the Grow Your Blog, Blog Hop last June, I have been super excited for February to come!
I've put a lot of work into this idea, and even more work getting what I hope will be great post content scheduled ahead of time and ready for February, so I can spend less time writing posts and more time visiting other blogs and networking with all the others.

I had so many fabulous bloggers respond, that I had to end the sign up early and cap it at 40. So for this first time running it, I wouldn't get beyond overwhelmed not only for myself, but for others. Today is the official first day of the hop, and although today isn't my day to be spotlighted, I still wanted to bring the topic up, and let you all have a glimpse of who the fabulous participants are.

Even if you didn't sign up to participate, if you are interested in growing your blog, you can still have a little of the fun, if you'd like.  See every blogger on this list has committed to networking the entire month.  Meaning, if you visit their blog and leave a comment and a way for them to comment back on your blog, they should be doing it within 72 hours.
It's not required, but if you do comment, if you could mention you saw their blog in the hop list, and came to visit.  That would be helpful, because many of the bloggers will be keeping track of their number, and what impact this networking experience had with their blog:)
It's a bonus for them, and you because its a great way to meet new bloggers!

Here are the Fabulous February Participants:

Grow Your Blog, Blog Hop

I'm hosting a Grow Your Blog, Blog Hop in February. I'd love it if you'd like to consider joining me and others in this great Networking opportunity!

(1/21/15 UPDATE: I am going to cap this off at 40, participants.  We are almost there, so if your thinking of joining join us you will want to join soon.)

You might be wondering, how does Runaway Bridal Planner know how to grow a blog, her blog isn't one of the biggest.

If you are thinking that, your right.  I don't have one of the biggest blogs out there, but in the past few years I have gone from a couple of page views a week to thousands.

To a larger blog, this might not sound impressive, but for a smaller blog I am pretty darn proud of how things are going.  It makes me feel like I have a decent idea on how to grow a blog.  What I am doing is working, it's not easy, its a lot of work (fun work), but it is working!
My goal for this hop, is to let you all in on what I have done.  How you can build your blog and grow your audience even if at one stepping stone at a time.

What have I learned this past year that has helped me do this?  A simple thing, the understanding and knowledge of Networking!
It's not always about the numbers, it's about the relationships you build.  You know the term, "It's all who you know."  Well in some ways that DOES ring true in blogging.
Good networking relationships in blogging can actually turn into finding more and more future relationships.  When your interacting with one blogger, and others see you time after time, it draws their interest and sometimes they come visit your blog just to see what your all about.
If your lucky, you might even end up finding a few new friendships out of it too!

To do this, you have to have a foundation to build on.  Most people start with a blog, and then venture into other area's of social media marketing.

Any size blog is welcome to join the hop!  However, bloggers who aren't receiving millions of pageviews each month will probably find this growth opportunity to be the most beneficial!

I'd love it if you'd like to join up and participate!  However, please make sure you read through this entire post (sorry it's long I know) and make sure you are okay and can agree and commit to the time in February to do this.
If you are not sure, don't sign up!
If you need to think about it, just bookmark it and come back later.  I am leaving the sign up, up for 3 weeks.

4 SIMPLE RULES TO JOIN

#1  Any type of blogger can participate, however, to keep it comfortable for everyone participating  your blog must be considered family friendly, no nude or erotica are allowed.  All blog participant submissions will be reviewed before your name is added to the official list.

#2  It is a requirement that you participate in the comment exchange portion of the hop.  I know blogging takes time, and growing your blog takes even more time too. So when I set this up I didn't want it to feel overwhelming to anyone.  I also wanted to make it as easy as possible.  But it also wouldn't be fair if you signed up to participate, and others are commenting and sharing your blog and social media mentions if you aren't doing the same with their blogs.
I estimate that this will take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes additionally from your day. (*see below if you can't participate daily.)
You'll be on the honor code that you'll participate each week and help grow others blogs as they are doing for you!  However, if it becomes obvious that you are not participating.  I reserve the right to delete your blog from the group.  Also keep in mind others are likely to notice first that they are participating and you are not.  If your looking to develop new blogging relationships keep in mind that others will notice what you do and don't!

#3  You'll need to be okay with receiving a daily email from me in February.  You'll receive an initial email welcoming you to the blog hop.  An email the last week in January to let you know what date(s) your blog will be spotlighted in Feb (to give you time to prepare).  Then the daily emails will start Feb 1st-28th as we all begin Networking, it will be your list of to do's for that day.

#4  You must post on your blog at least ONCE a week each week in February.  You can also post daily! You are NOT required to post any more than normal, after all it's your blog it needs to ring true to how you want it to be, which is why there is no other requirements than to post at least once a week!

How it All Works

The object of joining this is to grow your blog and get it out there in front of different eyeballs in the form of Networking.
Getting your messages shared via different people, different ways at different times.  We all have different blogs and different followers, and we can all help share each others blog and messages to, so together we will help grow each others blogs, social media mentions and posts.

We will focus on these Networking areas:
* 1 day (possibly 2) in Feb your post will be featured and commented and shared by all.
* Twitter Follows & Retweets
* Facebook Page Likes, Post Likes & Shares
* Pinterest, Board Following, Image Pinning
* Instagram Followes, Likes
* Thoughtful blog comments

What do you need to know now to join?

* Optional, pull your google analytics or whichever reporting system you use to track your blogs page views and other statistics.  Pull your average monthly numbers and set them aside.  After the hop is over, I want you to compare them to your February results from the hop so you can see the difference!  (Also may want to make note of your social media numbers to see the growth there too.)

*  You MUST commit to blogging at least once each week in February.  Blog as you normally do, although their will be a few weekly suggested theme post ideas, they will be entirely optional.  You blog how you want to blog!

* Optional, but highly recommended.  Include at least 1 pinable image in each post!  Even if you don't have or use Pinterest yourself, one thing that many bloggers do find is that Pinterest is their #1 source lead to their blog posts.  If you don't have a pinable image, then you can't have a presence on Pinterest and your losing out on new visitors to your blog.

* On January 26th you will be emailed a date for your blogs spotlighted post(s).  This will give you advanced time to create a great post for your spotlight day.  You can use it as a day to introduce yourself and your blog, or create a post on something you are passionate about.  You can do anything you'd like, its your blog its your time to shine.  I just want to give advance notice so you can prepare.
(A recommended 500 word minimum as well as at least 1 pinable image should be considered for this post! *See the Q&A below for more info on why for this part.)
Depending on how many we have sign up, their will be 1 or possibly 2 blogs spotlighted each day.
Why?  Well on this date, everyone in the blog hop will be visiting your blog and commenting on it.
(*Its okay if your busy and cannot visit a blog each day, you can play catch up during the week.  The main requirement is that by the end of the week (Midnight Saturday), you must have visited each and every blog that was spotlighted for that week.)
NOTE: I would like everyone to have 2 spotlight days, however that depends on how many we have sign up.  For sure for now plan on 1.  You'll know by the 26th if there are going to be 2.

* During the month of February you MUST be willing to leave a thoughtful comment on ALL the spotlighted blog posts (You will receive these via email weekly.)  You should also be leaving an easy way for other bloggers to find your blog when you comment.  If you don't, then you cannot complain that others are not returning a comment on your blog.  They can only comment if they can find you!  It's also highly recommended you turn OFF capitcha's or other things that can detour others from commenting.

*  During the ENTIRE month of February.  If someone comments on your blog, you MUST be willing to go back and visit their blog within 72 hours.  *Networking*  (Only if they leave a link to their blog, in your comments.  You will not be required to locate others who are not making themselves easy to find.  When you respond to their comment on your blog, just make sure you let them know you would have loved to visit their blog but they didn't leave a way for you to find them.
This rule also applies for comments that are received from others not participating in the hop.  They may have found you and taken notice from one of the comments you left on another blog.  This is all about Networking and Networking comes from many various forms.
You want to grow your blog, and this is one of those things that takes time, but can also be a lot of fun, for this hop it is required to comment and return the favor to all who visit you and take the time to share their thoughts on your post!!!

* Although you'll only be required to visit the spotlighted blogs and social pages on any given day. For Networking purposes, I highly recommend you spend as much time or even a little time if that is all you have, visiting other blogs on the list of interest to you, commenting on them.  Making new relationships.  I keep saying this, but it's all about Networking!!!!

* Only if you have these forms of social media.  Sometimes you will be sharing others posts via social media.  You'll want to make sure you use appropriate  #Hashtags.  #Hashtags are beneficial on Twitter, Pinterest & Instagram.  You can include them on Facebook, but unless they have changed things recently that I am unaware of, Facebook doesn't pick up hashtags like the others do.  If you are not familiar with these, you can learn them in a few minutes just start today.

*  Additionally, you will need to know how to re-tweet, favorite or like a post on Twitter.  Like or comment on an Instagram post.  Pin an image to a Pinterest board, pin an image to a group board.  Share, comment and like a Facebook post.  (You will only be responsible for doing this if you tell me you have and use these social media options.)

*  Optional, if you aren't on: Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook now would be a great time to sign up for accounts.  You can use the Blog Hop to help build your following base.  If you are thinking of signing up for some/all do it before you join this blog hop so your links can be included for others to use during the hop.

*  You will get an email within 48 hours of signing up for this hop.  At that time your name will be added to the official list of bloggers participating.
However, I understand if 5-15 minutes a day is too much to add to your schedule in February.  So if you can no longer participate or change your mind please email me anytime between now and January 24th and I will remove you with no questions asked.  PLEASE let me know no later than this, because I will be spending time working you into the hop schedule.  If you bail at a later date, it won't be fair to others!  In the form you fill out, that is when you'll let me know what dates in February you cannot be spotlighted.  I will do my best to work around schedules.

*  Have more questions, scroll down below to see the question and answer section for more information or contact me for the answer.

Q- I don't have a lot of time, but I want to participate.
A- No worries, none of us have ton's of time.  I am keeping this as simple and easy as possible for everyone.  5-15 minutes should be all that is needed to do each day's requirements.

Q - What if I sign up, but I can't put effort into it every single day?
A - No problem!  It's set up to be easy, so you can do this as you have time.  You don't have to do it everyday if you don't have time. You can go in and do it on the days you do have time to focus on this.  You just have to have it all done by each Saturday.

Q- You mentioned although optional it is highly recommended that our sponsored day posts have at least 500 words and at least 1 pinnable image, why is this?
A- If you are familiar with SEO or even the term Going Viral then this is where this comes into play. In short Google searches sites/blogs and has specific algorithms to determine what posts are valid content, the ones they feel are better come up in google searches more.  Posts with very little content are the least likely to get picked up.  Although there is no rule of thumb on what is the perfect post length, some say it's somewhere around 1,500 words.
I picked 500, because that is what they consider the lower end of a good word count post, plus it sounds less overwhelming for most people.
Although it is rare, if a post goes viral several things happen.  If you notice posts that go viral when you view them, very rarely will you see short posts.  It would take too long to go into it.  But to better the chances since you'll be getting lots of page views, and pins and shares to these posts I thought I'd put it out there so if you are one of the rare lucky individuals, you're chances will be slightly higher!

Q- What if I don't have Facebook or Twitter and I only have a blog and Pinterest or some other combination?
A - No problem, the reason I had you fill out the Google Document is so I can circulate what you do have appropriately.  You will not be required to comment or share others social media channels if you don't have that particular form yourself!

Q- I only post on my blog once or twice a week is that okay, or do I need to do more?
A- You can post as much or as little as you want as long as you keep to the minimum of 1X a week.  Don't try to create posts, just for the sake of posting during the "Grow your Blog, Blog Hop".  Keep on doing what you have been doing, be real, post as you normally do.  Share content like you normally share it.  The point is to introduce your blog to everyone in it's "REAL" self.  You want people to keep on following you, so stay true to what makes your blog unique.  Don't start writing new content, on new topics or things you have no plans to blog about in the future, you won't want to confuse your potential new followers.

Q- You mentioned their will be possible blogging subjects sent out each week.
A - Yes, but they are completely optional.  One subject can bring several different variations ideas.  Since this is a "Grow Your Blog" focus, the subjects will be related to this.  You do NOT have to run any of those post topics, they are only suggestive.  However, since we all have different successes and we can all learn from each other, I am going to put the idea out there.  It's entirely up to you, if you tackle any of them!

Q- I haven't used social media in the past, if I sign up for it and it is brand new can I use it in the hop?
A- Of course, and what better way to get an immediate following!  I'd suggest joining the ones you want as soon as possible just so you are familiar with the functions and how to "like, share, comment" on things ahead of time so you feel like you know what you are doing come February 1st.

Q- I am signing up, is there anything I can do now to help me get ready for the hop?
A- Yes, As you know blogging takes time, especially writing quality posts.  Take this time in January to get a head a little, write a few posts and get them scheduled for February.  This way, you won't have to divide too much of your time between writing posts and networking with the other bloggers and assigned tasks.  This also a great time to start thinking about what you'd like your spotlighted post to be on.
