About Me Monday's

I don't think I ever really noticed until this summer, but summers are super busy for me. First there is weddings and work, and truthfully I work to play, because the term live to work tastes sour in my mouth:)
Second there is getting outdoors and doing things, it only takes one person to say, "Hey let's go...." and I am packed and out the door about the same time they finish telling me what we should do.
You throw blogging into that, and I am having a hard time coming up with a spare few hours, I haven't even been reading as much as I normally do.
But it's all good, I enjoy being busy and I enjoy living life to it's fullest!

Running has been going pretty good for me too, I am miles behind where I would like to be, but that's okay!
However, now that the temps now at or around triple digits it has me forced to wake up before 7am to get out, and truthfully since it's already around 80 by 7am, I really should be getting up at 5 if I want a cooler run, LOL  call me lazy, but I need to work up to that:)

So I have discovered the fake lotion tanners.  I will be honest my arms and legs are turning a nice shade of natural brown from the sun.
But I refuse to let me face and neck see the sun, because I kind of like people mistaking me for 10 years younger than I am:) ha ha
I have tried them in the past, but they always went patchy and orange.  But I have been using the Jergens Natural Glow brand, (the body one) on my face and after about a week the color has really come out quite evenly.  It almost matches my arms, but a shade lighter which is good:)  The best part is it has a 20 SPF in it, so I'm like double covered! (No I am not getting paid in any way to promote or mention them:)
When people come up to me at work and tell me how nice the tan is, I don't even mind telling them that it's from a bottle and it's totally safe and best of all, going to keep the wrinkles and sun damage away:)

I know, not the most interesting news.  But I next week, I promise to be more interesting!  I did get my picture's back from my river trip.  Waterproof camera's are not the best, and I don't love the picture quality, but if I can get time tomorrow, I hope to show them off for tomorrow's Travel Tuesday post!

Hope you all had a great past week.  Anyone done anything fabulous lately you'd like to share?

  1. I am always totally covered with sunscreen, but with summer heat, I feel like I sweat it off as soon as it has been applied. Wearing a hat is always a must as I try to keep my face from getting sun too! Summertime goes by too quickly, but I love it while it's here!

  2. I am quite tan even wearing sunscreen. It's like my body can't help it. But my face is not, thankfully. I'm trying that lotion on my face! I want to see your river pics. It does take some adjustment to get up earlier but well worth it now.

    1. I tan pretty well even with sunscreen too, I joke and tell people SPF 30 is a great tanner for me, I really do get an amazing dark tan with that one:)

  3. I used to use bronzers, but I embraced my pasty self years ago. I didn't like how some bronzers made me feel sticky, and I had to wait for it to dry which seemed to take forever.

    1. LOL, I wouldn't wear it either if it was sticky!!!!
Fortunately, this one abosorbs quickly and it's not different than applying a face moisturizer in the morning before I put my make up on:)

  4. I've noticed that I'm definitely getting tan lines from my sports bras and from my fit bit! I always wear sunblock when I go out but it does seem to wear off quickly due to sweating in this heat.

  5. Sometimes I think my sunscreen sweats off of me the second I apply it, especially when its been as hot and humid here as its been lately. At least I'm trying!

  6. The summer is messing with my sleep haha. My body just won't let me sleep in past 7am on my one day off from running because it's so used to getting up the other days, plus the sun shines like crazy into my room even with the blinds shut at that time lol. That's really nice that the tanning lotion you have has SPF in it! I love when products other than sunscreen have it. I have a tinted moisturizer that has it and it's so nice to not have to mess with putting sunscreen on my face. I just don't like the feeling of a lot of sunscreens, because they can be so greasy! And then the ones that aren't as greasy turn me into Casper lol, so I typically just use the moisturizer rather sunscreen on my face, unless I'm running, in which case I don't care what I look like because no matter what I'm probably not gonna look great no matter what I do haha

    1. LOL, I need that problem with sleeping!!!
I agree, Iike it in moisterizer, because frankly if I didn't have it in it, I probably wouldn't be as good at remembering to put it on. Plus sun screens make me break out like a teenager, I don't know why but I can't wear just anything on my face anymore...

  7. Sadly I admit I am the worst at remembering to wear sunscreen. Fortunately my skin rarely burns, but I know that is no excuse! I look forward to seeing your pictures from your rafting trip!

    1. If it wasn't in my moisturizer I would probably not bother putting it on either:)

  8. I am the sunscreen queen and I wore my swim tees this weekend in the sun and they worked great! I have just a hint of color but NO burn! and yes, we all love passing for 10 years younger, keep it up!

  10. Triple digit temps?? That sounds positively brutal for running. Props to you for still getting your miles in!

I haven't ever tried a fake tanner yet but interesting you got good results. I've been afraid of the very thing you mentioned - patchy and orange! Maybe I'll have to give it a try sometime. Although admittedly, I'm already pretty tan from running outside this summer :)

    1. Well I am getting up and out the door before the triple digits:) But ya, we've got some hot days coming up so we will see how it goes.
Oddly, I don't mind running in the heat, well most of the time:)

Oh, ya I was afraid of that too, but although the first few days were a little odd, I kept going and after a week it was perfectly even and looks great and matches the rest of my skin from its natural tan.
