Book Review 17 & GONE by Nova Ren Suma

17 & Gone by Nova Ren Suma is one of those books that kind of takes you by surprise.  I hadn't heard anything good or bad about this book, I just saw it at the library and it looked interesting enough to pick up and I'm so glad that I did!

Lauren is seventeen, and is having visions of missing girls, girls who disappeared when they were seventeen.  The only thing any of these girls have in common, besides their age.  Is they were listed as missing and no trace of them had ever been discovered.

Lauren is not sure why she is having these visions, but one thing she is sure of.  She must be having them, because she is supposed to help them.  She's also worried that possibly she is having these visions because she too may become one of these lost souls.

One or two of these girls really stand out to Lauren and things keep coming back to them.  Not sure if their disappearances are related or not Lauren sets out on investigations to discover what happened or what is happening to them and herself.

A little mix of the paranormal, with reality.  17 & Gone is a beautifully crafted novel filled with suspense and a few twists that even surprised me.  New too this author, I am now hooked.  The best part about this was it is, the book is a stand alone.  I am not going to have to wait a year or so to find out the ending.  This is a Young Adult book, but anyone over the age of 16 would really enjoy this book!
