Muir Woods National Monument

TRAVEL TUESDAY

Today, I'd like to show you Muir Woods National Monument.  This beautiful park is just a short 12 mile drive north from the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge National Recreation Area.  Many people have been to San Francisco many times, and they don't even know this beauty exists.  Next time your in the area, you'll find it well worth your time to take a day or even just a half a day and go explore the beautiful large and tall Redwoods of Muir Woods.

First you'll take a beautiful drive up the mountain, as you make your way from San Francisco on up to the National Monument.

If you have an entire day, and can walk and hike all the trails, or even if you just have a few hours to spare.  You'll love the beauty of these massive Sequoia tree's.  Make sure to take a camera, so you can many pictures of this beautiful forest.

It was so peaceful when I walked around.  I just loved stopping and staring up at the tops of the tree's, many of which I could barely even see the tops of, as they are so tall.  Some of them are so big around their trunk, that I think I could have laid along side them and the tree was still larger in circumference than my 5,4 height.

Muir Woods is full of these great nicely made trails.  Even those with disabilities can still go out and explore the beauty around.  If you are in the area, I also think this would be an absolutely beautiful place to have your bridal pictures taken, or a family portrait.

I think this is a place, that I could seriously go and just get lost in.  Not literally, but in my mind.  I would love to be able to just go sit in a quiet place in this forest and write a novel or something:)  It's a magical place, and full of inspiration (I'm sure of it:)

Cute bridges, and gentle streams run through these beautiful woods.  There are overlooks from just outside the park, that give you amazing aerial views of the surrounding valleys and beaches.
