Thank Goodness For Great Reads

I want to thank everyone for their comments last week, when I shared what I am going through. I have read them all and feel very blessed to have so many incredible blogging friends.
I feel bad I haven't responded to them all yet. Other than a few things here and there, I decided in needed to take a little time away from the computer for a couple of days.

I have good news to finally share. The drug treatment I have been on since Tuesday has been helping significantly. I already feel a night and day difference.  It's not 100%, but it's definitely a HUGE improvement. I'm even less cranky to be around, LOL which is definitely a plus I am sure more for others, LOL

Taking it easy, not working, resting mostly has been helping so much.
If things keep going as they have been, I will be able to move onto the next phase which is Physical Therapy and bringing back exercise into my life again soon.

I won't lie, I am getting a little stir crazy and have this incredible itch to get out and play in the snow. We've had 2 beautiful storms dump a ton of snow on us this past week and looking out the window now, looks like it's starting to snow again. That isn't helping curb my urge to get out any!

However, one benefit of being forced to lay around a lot, is getting to read a lot of books. I'm trying to mix up the reading a little, with different variations. Last week I read 4 books.

I really loved Unforgiven, but I was a huge fan of the Fallen series before this one. If you liked that series, this is the angel bad boy Cam's story.
Velvet, was one of those books that surprised me how much I just liked the escape read. It was sort of a cross between Twilight and Vampire Diaries, I didn't think I would like it, but I couldn't put it down. Dance of the Red Death, was a little darker story kind of an Edgar Allen Poe spin off. This was actually the sequel to the first book I read last week.
On the Fence, was recommend to me by a friend. It was a cute sporty romance story, and a super fast read. Definitely one of those beach/vacation reads.

Yeah, I wasn't kidding when I said I am reading lots. I'm not a huge T.V. person, so books have been how I've gotten through my days.

I did take off for a couple hours on Friday to run a couple of errands. I had forgotten my passport needed to be renewed. I wanted to get that done before it expires. I have no trips planned for it right now, but always best to keep it active just in case something spur of the moment comes up, right!

I've been looking deeply into what I want to do now that I need to change what I do work wise. I'm even toying around with the idea of going back to college and getting another degree to open up other area's of opportunities.

If not going back to school, I've been all over the place on other ideas. So many friends and family keep coming up with their own ideas they think would be fabulous for me to start into a new career as. LOL
I had already been looking, but that's all it was looking.  Now that it's inevitable, I am both excited and apprehensive.
I'm not in a huge rush, but I want to make some definite decisions in February. So we shall see, what happens there! Frankly, I have absolutely no idea which direction I am going next.

Yup, that's it. Pretty boring life right now I know!

So, let me live through you, tell me something fun you did last week!

I am linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin today for their Weekly Wrap!

  1. I didn't do much last week except work and attend coaching classes. I did not get outside during daylight hours at all, which left me feeling a little blue. I'm glad to hear your medication has made an significant improvement. I'm excited you will be going to PT this week. It will feel good for your body and mind to get some exercise. I'm also going to PT this week to address some lingering issues. Thanks for linking Kristy!

  2. I'm so glad to hear that the treatment has started to provide you with some relief. And don't feel bad whatsoever about being behind on responding to blog comments. Sometimes taking a physical and mental break from blogging and social media is what we all need, especially during difficult times.

  4. I bought the 5th book for this year and started reading it on Saturday. I'm not a big TV person either, anymore, so I also turn to books for entertainment. TV just isn't as good as it used to be.

  5. Velvet sounds like it would be right up my alley!!

  6. Even after the huge storm here on the East cost it didn't give us enough snow to delay or cancel anything (although it closed down a neighboring town for 3 days). Anyway, i'm still waiting for a snow day so I can get out my next book. I doubt that will happen though as the forecast shows temps of 40's and 50's in the coming weeks and no sign of snow. Maybe we'll have any early spring. That would be OK with me too!

  7. I love Lauren Kate so I need to read about Cam, the Fallen series was SO good! For something fun I did, we had an awards dinner at work followed by an after party, so we danced to the live band all night long, it was great!!

Yay for reading! Oh, to read 4 books in a week does have its appeal! I am lucky to get through one in a month these days...
I need to get some more audio books to listen to since I am driving so much more these days.

  10. I'm sorry to hear about your health issues but glad that you are getting some relief through th new medicine.

I didn't really do anything fun but I did start on clearing out my wardrobe! I have disposed of one bag of clothes and have another 2 bags that are good enough to try to sell or give to charity. And I still have more to go through!

  20. Oh bummer, you definitely need a snow day then!
If it makes you feel better we never get snow days here, I can't remember ever getting one when I was a kid either. If there is 2 feet of snow on the roads and it's still coming down hard, your still going to school here, LOL
Nice, enjoy your warmer temps!! We are warming up a little here later this week, but when I say warming up I mean around 34-36 degrees. Which will feel nice, though not as nice as 50's would. Enjoy that!!!

  21. Oh you will LOVE Cam's story! It's Lauren's same style of writing, but she gave his story a different feel and truth be told he was always one of my favorites so I really loved hearing how his story went.
Oh how fun, dancing all night! That is awesome!

  22. Thank you! Well if that is the case, I hope you find some great books to enjoy this year!!!

  23. Thanks for stopping by Esther! Before my forced stay at home laying around all day for a couple of weeks, I was not getting this much reading in. But have to admit, I am really enjoying it!
Audio books while your driving sounds like a great idea!!!

  24. That's great! Truthfully that is something I need to do as well. My closet has needed to be cleaned out for way longer than I care to mention. I have a feeling I will have several bags too for donation! Sometimes finishing a project like that, can feel so good once its done, enjoy the accomplishment!

  25. Thanks MB! Really appreciated the note you dropped me last week, it came on a day I really needed it!
That's a good idea, I really should pamper myself a little:) might as well!

  26. Thanks Farrah! Reading is a great therapy, I am liking it to much. When I have to cut back, I think I am going to miss a book a day, LOL

  28. Thank you, that is sweet of you to say, I hope I am too!

  29. Yeah! So happy you are getting some relief-continued prayers to better healing ;)

Neat reads-i so need to keep up my reading at nights. I am taking way too long to read one book.

Have fun with deciding on your next steps. I can see how that can be scary and exciting at the same time.

Thank goodness for good meds, right! I do hope you'll get some relief but you are right, it makes a lot of time for reading books, something I don't have near enough time for. :)

  31. I just bout Unforgiven so my fallen collection is now complete. I plan on rereading the entire series this year.
My book reading list just keeps growing.

    ReplyDelete
  32. You know, I think it was you who told me about the Fallen series originally. I just loved it and I loved Unforgiven just as much. Probably because in a lot of ways Cam was my favorite bad boy angel:)
I am the same way, my book reading list is so large, always growing never enough time to get through it all.

  33. Thanks!
LOL sometimes I have the same problem when I read. I started on the other day that was taking forever, so I picked up another and plan to go back to it when I am more in the mood:)

  34. I know huh! I actually go off them tomorrow, so it should be interesting to see if they worked or if they were just a temporary solution. Unfortunately, and I agree with the Dr's, I am just too young to be on pain killers for the rest of my life, it's not very healthy:) But when need, thank goodness for them!!!

  35. There really is nothing like a good book! I finally finished my Alamo book although it was less of a story and more of a history book. So now I'm looking for a new book to read. I'll have to check out some of your suggestions :)

Glad to hear your back is starting to feel better!

  36. Glad you're getting some relief for your back pain. Sounds like interesting reads! I enjoy reading too, but I don't get much time for it except for on long holidays from school.
