The One by Kiera Cass a Book Review

It's been no secret since I started reading The Selection a few years ago, I was totally hooked.  The second book in the trilogy The Elite lived up to the first book and only left me wanting for more and to finally find out how it ends.  Finally I read The One, and I have to say; loved it, loved it, loved it!

In my opinion one of the better endings of any of the trilogies I have ran to date.  Not to mention an author who in my opinion ended a romantic dystopian in a way that left me happy and satisfied.

The One picks up right were The Elite left off.  America is one of four girls who are in the finals to win prince Maxon's heart.  America has been torn, on her love for him and her love or friendship for Aspen.  But each day it is becoming clearer and clearer to her.  The only problem is, this is a contest and with other women in the mix it has her second guessing her feelings for either of them at each turn.

The King is still against her, and would like to have her removed as soon as possible.  He's laid his threats down, and made it very clear to her that she will not win his son's heart.
We finally find out the role of the Italians, and how America plays in their plans.  Additionally, we get a little mix of of the northern and southern rebels.  With a few surprises that I didn't see coming.
This story is action packed and you can't help but not be able to put it down.

I refuse to ruin the ending for anyone, but I will say its one of those endings that will have you second guessing all your original opinions on how you thought it may end.  Kiera Cass throws us a few curve balls that will make your heart drop as well as beat faster.

The One is an amazing conclusion to the series, and this one will be added to my favorites shelf.  I seriously couldn't put this down, I'd been waiting to find out the end for too long.  I read the entire story in three and a half hours, I couldn't help myself.
If you are looking for a great series to read this summer.  If you love cute romances that will get your heart hoping and guessing.  If you love action, great writing and lovable characters in a story that will keep you turning the pages not wanting to let it down.  I highly recommend The Selection series by Kiera Cass!

  2. I've never heard of this one either! When I do read I love to read legal or psych thrillers.
