Lacking in pre-workout energy?

We've all had those days where we love what we do, we love our sport but we are lacking a bit on energy. Sometimes we need something a little extra to help us get the energy to not only push us out the door, but get us through out workout.  The thing is most of us don't want to sacrifice our health and take something that isn't good for us, or is too high calorie.

A few months ago I was presented with the opportunity to try Vega Sport.  Since I was just getting back into cardio and needing a little extra to give me the energy to get going, I opted to test out their PRE-WORKOUT ENERGIZER.
I actually chose this for more than just the pre energy help.  I looked at the ingredients beforehand and what caught my attention was first that it was only 70 calories.

To me that was doable, it wouldn't be like other sports drinks that if I drank some beforehand I would be over the amount of calories that my workout would burn.  70 calories and the fact that it is a plant based product with all natural taste. (Coconut seed, Ginseng, Ginger, Green Tea and Whole Grain Brown Rice just to name a few of the natural ingredients.)

"GET IN THE ZONE WITH ENERGY TO BURN"

One box contains 12 individual powder energy packets.  They are really easy and quick to mix, just a cup of water mixed into one packet.  You just need to take it 20 minutes before you begin your workout, so for me I took it right when I first woke up and let the twenty minutes pass while I got ready to head out the door.

*  Provides immediate and sustained energy.
*  Increases endurance, aerobic and anaerobic capacity.
*  Enhances mental focus.

I received the Lemon Lime flavor, and I'll be honest when I first looked at it, I was sure it was going to taste a little chalky or have some sort of after taste.
Fortunately, I was completely wrong.
I really enjoyed the taste, it wasn't over powering, and it didn't have a chalky taste.  Yes, I could taste the Lime taste, but it wasn't strong or over powering.  In fact it was a pretty light taste, and it went down pretty smooth.

Earlier this spring I used this product for a month.  I didn't use it every day, but as I felt was needed.  I can't tell you I felt any major surge of energy, it didn't make me jittery or anything.  But I do believe on the days I was lacking for energy that it helped give me a little extra something to go out and get my morning run/walks in.  I even used it on a few days that I had to get up early for bigger weddings, on mornings that I knew I was going to be carrying 50-100 pound items and walking over 6 miles carrying them.
I will say it is a much smarter choice than caffeine or sugary drinks, which is what I used to drink in the morning to get me going.  It was also far less calories than other items I have tried in the past, and that was one of my favorite parts.

I checked out their pricing and found the to be pretty comparable in price to other dietary supplements.  You can buy individual packets for as low as $1.69 or if you are interested in buying the product in bulk, you can buy it in larger bulk packs for $49.99.

If you'd like to learn more, please check out Vega Sport's website.  Although my review is on the pre-workout energizer.  They actually have an entire product line for all your dietary supplement needs.

Have you ever tried Vega Sport products before?  Does it sound like a product that you could see yourself considering to try in the future?
